Large Farm #20

Designed after the famed Diamond A stables in Lexington, Kentucky, this Ohio barn houses premier thoroughbred brood mares and their foals.  Sixteen stalls are serviced by a small staff, so the design had to ensure efficient care of the prized mares.  Exterior sliding Dutch doors with full mesh doors inside allow for easy access to all stalls in case of emergency while providing enormous ventilation for each horse.  The copper-topped cupolas have aged nicely to a rich multi-colored patina.
